Kym Pitman

Kym Pitman's 'Million Star Hotel' featured on the September 2010 edition of NfS Country Singles for Radio has been greeted with much enthusiasm from radio presenters and is receiving airplay nationally.

'Million Star Hotel' is the title track from the album which is being serviced to media this month.

Kym writes lyrics and music that dance with the spirit of the land and sings them with rare grace & beauty. She is currently on a whirlwind tour of the United Kingdom before returning home for media commitments and the Summer Festival circuit.

Listen to songs from the album on this month's edition of UCM Radio to hear why we're thrilled to have her on our roster.

Gary Shearston

Gary Shearston gave a special performance at renowned Aussie photographer Jon Lewis’s exhibition at the South Hill Gallery in Goulburn on the October long weekend which typically went down very well.

He was then invited to do a late afternoon set at Goulburn’s annual Lilac Festival where he performed songs from his forthcoming album Renegade.

Renegade features Lee Williams on bass (& guitars) and making his recording debut Luke Shearston on drums, with able contributions also from Roger Ilott, Penny Davies & Jordan Davies-Ilott. The album was mixed by Jorden Brebach (The Church, You Am I, Grinspoon, Dappled Cities, gB3) and mastered by William Bowden.

Shearston will launch Renegade in his home town of Tenterfield at the School of Arts in November.

The father of Australian folk is far from finished yet!

The Lovetones

“Matthew Tow might have titled the fifth album from his band The Lovetones, Lost, but there’s no mistaking what you get – another dizzying dose of glorious psychedelically-charged pop.”
(Michael Smith, The Drum Media NSW)

Another powerful outing for the Lovetones - an album that is both lyrically engaging and musically healing.

The Lovetones head to the USA this month to launch the American release of Lost through Planting Seeds after two stellar shows in Melbourne & Sydney. “From the first song it was clear what immense talent front man Matthew Tow possesses. With his 12-string electric and strong, controlled voice he seemed supremely confident on stage – something that only works when you have the songs to back it up. The Lovetones do and showed tonight that they are a sonic and songwriting match for scene figureheads like Brian Jonestown Massacre and as such deserve plaudits for their progressively refined songs.”
(Chris Familton, The Drum Media (NSW), Sept, 2010)

Lost recently scored Brag’s Indie Album of the Week and was also an Amrap Top 3 Pick in The Music Network.

Look and listen out for The Lovetones in/on ABC Radio, FBI, 2SER, PBS FM, Triple R, Triple J, Drum Media (NSW), The Brag, Beat, Inpress, The Music Network, www.pennyblackmusic.co.uk, Crema Magazine, Time Out, Right Angle Studio, Billboard, Side Street Sydney, iTunes Australia, Australian Financial Review, Herald Sun, Mess + Noise, 2RRR, dronemagazine.com, Amrap AirIt and community radio nationwide including 1VFM, 2 Double X, 93.7 Edge FM, 2BAY, 2BBB, 2BLU, 2BOB, 2MCE, 2NIM, 2RDJ, TUNE! FM, 2VOX, 4BSR, 4NSA, 4ZzZ, 5DDD, 5GTR, 5GS, Radio Adelaide, 7EDG, 3CH, 3INR, 3SYN, 3WAY, 3BBB, 3BBR, 6KCR & 6RTR.
