Yep! Records

The Lovetones

Set for a November 2008 release, 'Dimensions' is The Lovetones fourth studio album and the latest chapter in the indie psychadelic pop legacy of frontman Matthew Tow, who remains one of the country's most underrated songwriters.

Beautiful jangling guitars in wide stereo mixed with honest heartfelt lyrics, Tow's songs have an enduring timelessness about them, remaining catchy without ever being contrived. The album was mixed in the USA by BJM's Rob Campanella and mastered by William Bowden (one of this country's finest mastering engineers). The Lovetones will be touring nationally in November before heading back to the USA to support the album's North American release.

Look and listen out for The Lovetones in Drum Media, Beat Magazine, www.fasterlouder.com.au, and on Triple J, ABC Sydney, FBI, 2SER, 2UUU, Highlands FM, 4ZZZ, TUNE! FM and community radio nationwide. ‘Dimensions’ will also be a feature album very soon on www.amrap.org.au.

Launch Dates

SAT 15 NOV - Annandale Hotel (Sydney)
FRI 5 DEC - Birmingham Hotel (Melbourne)
SAT 6 DEC - Revolver (Melbourne)

“Matt Tow lead his band through an inspired entree of psychedelic rock, with a sweet and spicy pop edge. Mantra, I Gotta Feel, Wintertime in Hollywood, Stars, Pictures and a tantilising introduction to the next Lovetones album. The set closer, Navigator, bent, stretched and wandered round corners, just like a good psychedelic track should.” (Live Review, Beat Magazine October 2008)

'Dimensions' (YEP010) is out November 2008 on Yep! Records via MGM Distribution.

Mic Conway's National Junk Band

“If you like witty lyrics, social satire, ukes, sousaphones, mkazoos, nose flutes, National and lap slide guitars, musical saws, mandolins, silly noises and great vocal harmony, you will love the latest offering from Mic Conway's National Junk Band, I know I do.”
(Barbara Wogan-Provo, InFolkus)

“These guys are a lot of fun, singing about the most unlikely subjects and making fun of popular culture as they go. 'Rubbish Wrap' is a standout, satirically making fun of chain wearing, hardcore rap artists. For their first album in quite a few years, it's good to see these guys can still crowd please with a Kazoo or two.”
(Tsunami Magazine)

‘Rubbish Wrap’ the next single from Corporate Chook will be released to radio later this month.

Conway and co will be performing live on Channel 7’s Sunrise to help launch National Recycling Week on Monday 10th November.

Look and listen out for ‘Corporate Chook’ on/in ABC Local Radio, ABC Radio National, 3RRR, 3PBS, SMH, Rave Magazine, InFolkus, Tsunami Magazine, 3MDR, Simply Australia, Trad & Now.

Corporate Chook (RRR45) is available now on Rouseabout Records through MGM Distribution.
