CODA

CODA has just returned to Australia after blowing crowds away at the Java Jazz festival in Jakarta, Indonesia to continue work on their next album. The band is in outstanding form at the moment as anyone who was at their recent Oxford Art Factory gig would attest …

“Whenever Coda come out to play, it’s a guaranteed party night of weird and wacky proportions. Flagbearers of the avant-garde, this band is renowned for its precociously high standard of music. They certainly didn’t disappoint a packed house at the Oxford Art Factory. If you mixed up the eccentricities of Silverchair, the inventvness of Fourplay and the experimentation of Herbie Hancock, you’d have about a quarter of the Coda experience. CODA make you want to dance, mosh and stand in awe all at the same time. This proved a difficult task for the audience, who were content simply to cheer raucously for what is undoubtedly one of the most electrifying live acts in Sydney.” (Jonno Seidler, BRAG Oxford Art Factory Review)

THIS SHOW IS ABOUT PEOPLE :: Soundtrack

This Show Is About People is a daring music-theatre-dance collaboration between dancer-choreographer and counter-tenor Shaun Parker and the renowned musicians and vocalists Mara and Llew Kiek. The other worldly soundtrack produced by CODA's Nick Wales and Mara & Llew Kiek features Bulgarian and medieval music and shepherds them into a chillingly contemporary setting to express the depth and complexity of emotional and spiritual ideas broached in This Show Is About People.

The CD was recently feature album of the week on ABC Radio’s The Planet and is enjoying airplay on classical radio nationally.
